THE HISTORY OF SAVAGE
Savage was established in 2005. Its purpose was to revolutionize the way masqueraders were treated. Its lead, Kenrick Rickson was on a mission to prove that his company could deliver an experience instead of just a costume.
At the age of 12 in 1970 he went missing from school for months at a time as he followed his love and passion for the arts. His mother would come searching for him and his mentors like Ken Morris would scurry him off to race home before her.
During his many years of mas making with such names as Mac Williams, Rickson eventually moved to Canada and continued his passion. Trinidad, Montreal, Toronto, Miami, Atlanta, St.Thomas, St.Martin are only a few places that Rickson has taken Savage Carnival Arts and will continue to do so.
Fast forward 11 years, we are introduced to Melinda Rickson. The young princess now at the helm of her fathers empire, Savage Carnival Arts. As she advances the vision of her father, you also see her blissful and enchanting designs work its way to the forefront of Savage, adding to the overall carnival experience. Her slogan, "Every girl deserves to be treated like a Princess" rings true to the heart of the Savage masquerader. Process, inspiration and comfort are paired with her obsession for mas. For Savage Carnival Arts, making a mas internationally continues to be a small part of the goal; but the world is not enough. Captivating the people, along with the crafted experience is what makes the Savage.
We are Savage. I Am Savage!
